A WEEKEND WITH 2018
A WEEKEND WITH MT OPHIR ESTATE
Established in 1891, Mount Ophir Estate was once the largest wine producing complex in the Southern Hemisphere.
The property initially boasted 740 acres of vines and twenty houses to accommodate the management and staff. It also had a football and cricket team which regularly won the local Rutherglen competitions.
The wine bore the royal seal of England and was transported via rail to port and then via steam ships to ‘the mother country’ to satisfy the palate of British aristocracy. The winery closed in 1955, and the 740-acre estate was reduced to 140 acres.
Mount Ophir Estate is now operating as an exclusive site for private events, getaways and unique, luxury accommodation. We're blessed to be able to call it home for the first AWW
A WEEKEND WITH BOOMTOWN WINES
Boomtown Winemakers Cooperative is driven by a collective philosophy of making small-batch, honest wines, sourcing fruit from great Central Victorian sites.
Tim and Pat started out tinkering with grapes in other people’s spaces for home consumption before deciding to open a community-driven winery in April 2016. Now other first-time winemakers use the space, and there’s a distinct sense of freedom and experimentation in the air.
The winemakers have different tastes, but share common ground when it comes to music and food.
During the warmer months, their Castlemaine space becomes a bar on Friday evenings, serving wine and food with either a local band or the record player cranked up to full volume.
We're very excited to have them on board and we'll be serving their wine ON TAP all weekend.
A WEEKEND WITH ANALOGUE ATTIC RECORDINGS
Analogue Attic Recordings has been showcasing the ‘gentle side of electronic music’ in Australia for over 4 years.
Known for their immersive record launches and showcases, often at unique or one-off venues, their events are curated to merge quality listening-music with beautiful spaces.
Expect Analogue Attic to set the scene on Saturday morning with thoughtful music to start the day.
A WEEKEND WITH A COMMUNAL FEAST
We feel a stronger emphasis should be placed on coming together for shared meals at weekend-long events. Instead of a purely functional exercise or a means to an end, A Weekend With has devoted the entire Friday night to focus on eating and drinking with each other.
The Communal Feast is a casual dining experience and is included in your ticket price. After you’ve arrived and settled in, you will be invited to assemble at your leisure inside one of the magnificent Mount Ophir halls and be encouraged to sit and have a chat with one another whilst enjoying the specially developed feast.
A WEEKEND WITH SOFT CENTRE
SOFT CENTRE is a one-day festival for radical performance art, tech innovation and the darker strains of dance music. This year's edition is happening on the 22nd September at the cavernous Casula Powerhouse in South Western Sydney.
At A Weekend With, SOFT CENTRE are bringing their unique multi-disciplinary approach to curate the Saturday night program. Expect dark sonic experimentation, site specific works, one-off collaborations and an infectious dance floor energy.

A WEEKEND WITH CHEVRE WINE
Completing his first vintage when he was 18 and having worked on vineyards in Austria, Portugal and Tasmania, Jordy Kay of Chevre is no newcomer to the wine world.
His philosophy involves growing grapes with minimal intervention to consciously preserve the vines and the soils in which they grow. The results are incredibly complex wines with all the flavours of care and dedication that have gone into them.
